How To React To Instagram Message 

1. Open the Instagram app and go to the Home tab.
2. Tap the ‘Messenger icon’ at the top-right to access your Instagram messages.
3. Open the conversation in which someone reacted or replied to your story.
4. To like a reaction, simply double-tap the story message. A red heart will then appear right below the reaction (message).
5. Optional: Tap and hold the reaction message to super react with a different emoji.

Try to update the Instagram app first and check if you get the option to react to Instagram messages with emojis.

To like a story while watching it on the Instagram app, tap next to the reply bar. To unlike a story you’ve liked, tap again. Only the person who shared the story can see your like.
