Stamps Scholarship

Luckyday Scholarship

  • Award Amount: $8,000 to $24,000 ($2,000 to $6,000 annually).
  • Eligibility: Mississippi first-year freshmen with a minimum GPA of 3.2, an ACT score of 20 or higher (940 SAT/1020 SAT-R), and unmet financial need after considering any scholarships or grants. The competitive selection process considers grades, test scores, financial necessity, leadership, extracurricular activities, and the Luckyday essay. Each year, 80 new freshmen are selected.

Army ROTC Scholarship

  • Award Amount: $12,600-$113,400 ($3,150- $28,350 per year)
  • Eligibility: Scholarships are awarded to young men and women from freshmen to graduate level at the University of Mississippi. Students must have a strong academic background and demonstrate a commitment to leadership and achieving excellence.

Transfer & Community College Scholarships

Any awards listed below require applicants to have a minimum of 48 transferable college credits. All grades from previously attended colleges will be considered when calculating the transfer GPA.

Lyceum Scholar Awards

  • Award Amount:  Full resident tuition for two years ($9,072 for the 2023-2024 year)
  • Eligibility:  Community College Transfer students with at least a 3.0 transfer GPA on at least 48 transferable college credit hours and an exemplary record of leadership and service.

Community College Leadership Scholarships

  • Award Amount:  $6,000 ($3,000 per year for two years)
  • Eligibility:  Community College Transfer students with at least a 3.0 transfer GPA on at least 48 transferable college credit hours and an exemplary record of leadership and service.

Mississippi Community College Advantage Scholarship

  • Award Amount: $10,000 ($5,000 per year)
  • Eligibility: Community College transfer students who are MS residents with at least 48 transferable college credit hours and a 2.5 or higher overall transfer GPA. Students must be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and have a family-adjusted gross income of $40,000 or less (as reported on the previous year’s Federal tax return.). This is a competitive scholarship, and 50 awards are made each year.

UM Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship 1

  • Award Amount: $14,000 ($7,000 per year for two years)
  • Eligibility: Transfer students with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.49 on at least 48 transferable college credit hours and membership in Phi Theta Kappa. Members of the All-Mississippi Team will receive an additional one-time only $1,000 scholarship, and an additional $1,000 one-time only scholarship will be awarded to those students who become members of the All-American Team. Non-residents will receive an additional $7,000 yearly for two years toward the non-resident fee.

Student’s receiving this award must be residents of Mississippi and must be transferring from Mississippi community college. In addition, students selected must have remaining financial needs as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after other scholarships and grants have been awarded.

New Century Scholarship

  • Award Amount: Full resident tuition for two years ($9,072 for the 2022-2023 year)
  • Eligibility: Transfer students with a 3.00 overall transfer GPA on at least 48 transferable college credit hours and named a New Century Scholar. Non-Resident students will receive an additional scholarship to cover their full non-resident fee for two years ($17,220 for the 2022-2023 year).

Osher Reentry Scholarship

  • Award Amount: Up to $2,500 per year ($1,250/semester)
  • Eligibility: Students who are pursuing their first baccalaureate degree; have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years since High School graduation or attainment of GED; who are enrolled at least half-time, are US Citizens between 25 and 50 years old; and have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Academic Merit

Academic Merit Scholarships

  • Award Amount: Please see the following charts for award amounts based on your residency status. These awards are fixed amounts renewable for up to four years as long as all terms and conditions are met. Also note:
    • At the 32 and 33+ ACT levels, the non-resident scholarship will be set to the value of the non-resident fee in Year One and capped at that amount for all undergraduates (including Pharmacy) for the life of the scholarship.
    • Similarly, at the 33+ ACT level, the scholarship stipend will be set to the value of tuition in Year One and capped at that amount for all undergraduates (including Pharmacy) for the life of the scholarship.)
    • Mississippi residents who earn at least a 3.5 high school GPA and 23 ACT scores (or the SAT/SAT-R equivalent) are eligible for the additional 1848 scholarship. These award amounts are included on the Mississippi Residents chart.
  • Eligibility: Entering Freshman with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and 23 ACT scores for Mississippi residents or 25 for non-residents (or the SAT/SAT-R equivalent). Beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year, the university will accept super scores (highest subject tests from ACT/SAT when scores from multiple test dates are submitted for admission). Subject test scores must be from the same exam type (ACT or SAT) to create a super score.

W.R. Newman Scholarship

This scholarship is open only to the first year of Ole Miss, who resides in Mississippi. To qualify, students must have excellent academic performance and demonstrate leadership skills. The scholarship will provide $40,000 worth of recipients over four years. Students interested in applying must submit a full application by January 5th. This award is considered one of the Ole Miss Foundation Scholarships.

Arabic Language Program Scholarships

This scholarship provides a grant of $2,500 to eligible students who are in their first three years of study. To be eligible, students must demonstrate that they are seeking a high level of proficiency in Arabic. The program supports 2.5 credits abroad, in Jordan or Morocco. Candidates must apply by January 5th.

Scholarships at Community Colleges

There are several scholarships for students from a community college at Ole Miss. An award, called the Lyceum Scholar Award, provides comprehensive training for the remaining two years of the B.A. Program.

Only students based in Mississippi are eligible. In addition, all students must have an average of at least 3.0 and be able to transfer at least 48 credit hours. Students can apply for this scholarship by applying for a transfer from a community college.

This application can also be used for other scholarships at community colleges, such as the Mississippi Community College Advantage Scholarship. This award is for students with an average score of 2.5 or more and whose family income does not exceed $30,000.

All applicants must be eligible for the Pell Grant. Each year, 25 of these awards are available. Students must register by March 1st and apply for FAFSA.
