What is Lead2030 all about?

Lead2030 is an initiative to drive progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This initiative is supported by some of the world’s most prestigious brands, Lead2030 will find, fund and accelerate the most impactful youth-led solutions that are moving the needle on the SDGs.

However, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals – or Global Goals – were agreed upon by 193 countries in 2015. From ending poverty to protecting the oceans, these goals represent an ambitious to-do list to create a sustainable future by 2030.

How does SDG Challenge work?

The program is made possible by all the Lead2030 Challenge Partners who have together committed to making half a million dollars available to youth-led projects in its first year.

Each Partner has selected a particular Sustainable Development Goal to support. They have each set specific challenges for their chosen goals.

Chosen solutions to each Challenge will receive $50,000 in funding from their Challenge Partner.

But even more valuable than that, each Lead2030 Challenge Partner is forming a mentorship team to provide you with expert advice and guidance to accelerate your solutions and grow their impact.

How much is One Young World Lead2030 Challenge Worth?

The sum of $500,000 will be given to the most impactful youth-led initiatives, businesses or movements that are making a tangible impact on a selected Sustainable Development Goal.

In addition, each Challenge Winner will be connected with a team of expert mentors from the supporting business and its partners.

Eligibility Criteria for Lead2030 SDG Challenges

Below is the eligibility criteria for Lead2030;

  • Evidently aligned with the SDG 2,3,4,6,7,9,10,12,14 challenge listed above.
  • Be a youth between the age of 18 – 30.
  • The well-structured time horizon identified key stakeholders and beneficiaries and proposed outcomes that are reasonable and well thought out.
  • Proven: Readily available, in or past implementation phase.
  • Impactful: Solutions must have a positive social impact, for example generating employment, or developing skills.
  • Measurable: Impacts of solutions must have been adequately measured and/or be measurable.
  • Financially viable: Must be able to achieve efficiency and to survive independently through the resources they generate and/or the investments and donations they attract.
  • Scalable: Potential to perform as well or better after expanding in scope or size and/or being transported to other regions.

These young world challenges are open for young entrepreneurs and business initiatives.

Lead2030 SDG challenges are organized and provided by One Young World global forum for young leaders that enables them to create lasting positive change around the world.
