The Science Ambassador Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship for undergraduate women studying science, technology, engineering, or math, funded by Cards Against Humanity.
Every year Cards Against Humanity science awards a full-tuition scholarship to one woman in science, technology, engineering, or math.
Importantly, the goal is to highlight outstanding women in science, technology, engineering, and math. To date, they’ve funded four full-ride scholarships and created a community of mentors and students who work in STEM fields.
Science Ambassador Scholarship funds are provided from Cards Against Humanity’s Science Park, a 30–card expansion pack co-authored with Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal’s Zach Weinersmith and Bad Astronomy’s Phil Plait.
The company says proceeds from sales of its new science-themed expansion pack will go toward its new science ambassador scholarship, which will offer a full ride for women who want to pursue undergraduate degrees in science and are starting college in the fall of 2016.
Game co-creator Josh Dillon, who got a Ph.D. in astrophysics at MIT, said in a statement: “Women are under-represented in science, tech, engineering, and math, and we felt like the funding from this pack could have the greatest impact by making it possible for more women to get an education in those fields.”

How To Apply

- A mini-lecture, not a personal statement. Pretend you’re a lecturer speaking to a class or teaching something.
- Your video doesn’t need to be fancy or high–tech. Production value is not a factor. But it has to be clear, creative, accurate, and a demonstration of your passion for the subject.
- Your video must be three minutes or less in length.
- Your video must be about any STEM topic, not necessarily your field of study.
- The video must be uploaded to YouTube and marked ‘public.’ It should be accessible to the general public and could but doesn’t have to be, targeted at young students.
- An advisory board of women who hold higher degrees and work in a broad range of STEM fields will review applications and select finalists. Hence, Finalists will be notified in early 2023 and will move onto the next round to submit additional materials. Importantly, A winner will be announced in April 2023.
