GoUNESCO offers a 6-month internship program to eligible Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from all nationalities interested in learning about heritage.

Brief Description:
The GoUNESCO Internship Program (GIP) is GoUNESCO’s global student outreach program. This 6-month program promotes young people’s awareness of heritage and culture via fun, educative tasks.
As part of the program, you will be assigned tasks that will make you experience heritage through exploration, research, and interaction with people and organizations.
Depending on your performance, skills, and area of specialization, you may be assigned to specific teams with additional responsibilities.
Level/Field of Study:
This UNESCO internship is available to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
Although the internship program is for college students, undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing a law, humanities, engineering, and heritage degree can apply.
Host Nationality:
The internship is expected to be done in the applicant’s host country.
Eligible Nationality:
The GoUNESCO internship program is available to all nationalities.
Scholarship Worth:
The internship is unpaid, and it requires the interns’ full commitment.
Eligibility:
- Any undergraduate/postgraduate student who wants to learn more about heritage is welcome to apply! The internship has had all levels of students, from those studying law, humanities, engineering, and even heritage studies. Whoever you are, this internship program will engage you with heritage in interesting, fun ways.
- Applications are welcome from people of all nationalities, genders, and ages – we do not discriminate.
- The program is primarily meant for college students, but you can choose to join even if you are not one currently.
Tasks
Interns may:
- Carry out and prepare summaries of research.
- Contribute to the preparation of documents, including substantive and communication materials.
- Collect, analyze, and present data.
- Assist in organizing and communicating about events.
- Participate in meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the technical work of the team/Unit/Sector.
- Liaise with colleagues in other entities of the United Nations System.
- Perform tasks that may be required in specific projects.
Keep In Mind:
- Have your motivation letter and résumé ready before filling out the application form. You only have one hour to finish the process.
- Make sure your contact details will be valid in the next six months.
- You can only use either English or French in applying.
- Please provide an unofficial French or English translation of your documents if they are not in these languages.
- UNESCO does not remunerate interns. There is no compensation, financial or otherwise, for internship assignments.
- Even if you are eligible, there is no guarantee of placement. They receive more applications from qualified candidates than they can place.
- Your application will be further accessed by UNESCO managers worldwide and will stay in our internship portal for six months.
- They do not respond to each and every candidate. If selected, you will be directly contacted by the manager. If you do not receive any update within six months, your application has not been successful.
Selection And Recruitment Process:
The UNESCO Internships Programme is open in January and July each year. Candidates shall apply for the vacancy that matches their expertise and domain. Candidates who successfully applied to the vacancy will stay in the intern talent pool and be further assessed and selected by relevant hiring managers. The candidature will be valid for six months. Candidates selected will be contacted directly by the relevant hiring manager. Those not selected for an internship in the current cycle will need to reapply to the internship program when the new internship vacancies are released.
