17th InterAction Annual Photo Contest ($1,000 USD prize)

Applications are accepted for the 17th InterAction 2022 Photo Contest. Each year, the InterAction Photo Contest focuses on incredible humanitarian and development work.

They encourage you to submit your most powerful photographs showing innovative, effective and inspirational efforts in international aid and development. Examples of self-reliance, innovative technologies, shared values, partnerships and provision of humanitarian assistance are recommended, although contributions are not limited to these categories. All photos must be taken outside the United States.

InterAction Annual Photo Contest 2022 Worth

  • A grand prize winner will receive the US $ 1,000. The award-winning photo will also be presented at the InterAction Forum 2022, June 11-13.
  • Three Runners Up will receive $ 100 and their photos will be posted in an online gallery at www.interaction.org.
  • Six honorable mentions will be posted in an online gallery at www.interaction.org.

Eligibility InterAction Annual Photo Contest 2022

  • Access is open to all except current InterAction employees.
  • Applications are limited to three (3) photos per person.
  • Entries must be at least 300 dpi and not smaller than 1920 x 1080 pixels.
  • All uploaded photos must have the following name: IA_Photographers First_Photographers Last Name_Photo Title
  • All participants must own and enforce copyright in the photos they submit when entering this property. If it is determined that a participant fraudulently claimed ownership of his contribution, the entry will become immediately invalid and ineligible.
  • All photos must come from work outside the United States.
  • The selected photos will be uploaded and available for download. Photos that do not meet the evaluation criteria will not be published. InterAction reserves the right to suspend or terminate the contest in its sole discretion or to modify these rules.
  • For all persons appearing in the photo, the participant is required to obtain the explicit authorization, written, verbal or other express authorization, necessary to allow the exhibition and use of the photo before submitting it. If a person in a photo has not reached the legal age in his country/province/ country of residence, an express, written, oral, or other express permission from a parent or legal guardian is required.
  • By participating in a submission, participants agree to make their photo accessible to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC). Rightsholders retain all rights in the original photograph.

Interested candidates who meet the criteria listed above should submit their entries by clicking on the “Submit” button below:

The contest begins March 11, 2022, and ends April 22, 2022, at 11:59 pm EST. All eligible entries must be submitted between these dates. Entry is open to all accept current InterAction employees.

Entries are limited to three (3) photos per person. 

Entries should be 300 dpi or larger at a size no smaller than 1920 x 1080 pixels.
