Erasmus Mundus Human Rights Policy and Practice Scholarship
This Erasmus Mundus scholarship is heavily funded by the EU Commission, dedicated to the highest qualified students fulfilling the criteria set forth by the consortium. The scholarship does not only cover tuition fees and insurances but additionally contributes to accommodation, visa, and travel costs. Students with and without EU citizenship are eligible to apply. Depending on the students’ status an 8000 € installment plus a monthly stipend of 1000 € may apply – if students are Non-EU citizens and did not work/studied in the EU for a total of 12 months over the past 5 years. EU citizens may receive a monthly grant of 500 € for the total duration of 24 months.
Ford Foundation Scholarships
The Ford Foundation scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship that provides financial assistance to students of all ages for a maximum period of three entire years. Fellows are selected from countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Russia, where the Ford Foundation maintains active overseas programs. The fellows are chosen based on their leadership skills and commitment and also based on their academic performance. Students with a focused interest in democratic values, poverty reduction, combating injustice, and promoting international development are especially encouraged to apply. The Ford Foundation Scholarship covers up to $25,000 maximum per academic year.
Santander Human Rights Scholarships
The Santander Human Rights Scholarship offers Grants worth £10,000 which takes care of tuition fees and other costs related to the MSt in International Human Rights Law at Oxford University. Preference is given to candidates who are ordinarily resident in one of the countries within the Santander Network, which means Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, Ghana, Korea, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Uruguay, UAE, UK, and the USA. Students are awarded based on their academic excellence, must show exceptional academic merit and proof of commitment to the furtherance of human rights.
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) – Scholarship
The Scholarship Programme of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung provides international students studying in Germany with scholarships of 4-7 months. Up to 40 students from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe may qualify for the scholarship program every year. Foreign scholarship holders may receive 650 € to 1000 € per month depending on their current academic level. Health care costs will be covered as well. Students who plan to work during their students may not earn more than 400 € per month or the additional income will be credited against the scholarship. Choosing the right candidates, FES does not only take your grade into consideration but also social and political involvement. Students are expected to be living in Germany before they apply and have to provide proof of an adequate command of the German language by submitting a language proficiency certificate ( C 1, TestDAF).
Master of Arts in Human Rights at the Central European University
The Central European University CEU provides opportunities for four different types of scholarships for its Master’s program in Human Rights. In fact, it is one of the Highest Paid International Scholarships. The scholarship may include tuition fees, a stipend, housing, and even health insurance. Students are required to prove proficiency in English. Students will be awarded based on their proven record of leadership in extracurricular activities, civic engagement, and community service. Depending on the type of scholarship the full cost of tuition and medical insurance will be covered and scholarship holders are awarded a monthly stipend of 96,000 HUF.
Brunsfield Oxford ASEAN Human Rights Scholarship
The Brunsfied Oxford ASEAN Scholarship is specifically designed for three students from ASEAN countries to study the MSt in International Human Rights Law at Oxford University. Basically, it is one of the Highest Paid International Scholarships in the world. Included in the ASEAN scholarship are tuition fees and college fees and accommodation during two summer residences. On top of that scholarship, holders will receive a generous maintenance stipend of approximately £3200 per year.
