49 Bill Gates Foundation Masters Fellowship Scholarships

Getting a fellowship that addresses your basic needs is difficult. Therefore, the Gates Foundation Masters Fellowship in partnership with IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (IHE Delft) launches a new Master of Science Program in Sanitation.

Applicants are therefore invited to forward their application before the stated deadline and to also ensure that they adhere to the eligibility criteria as listed.

This unique, internationally recognized programme is designed for completion in 12 months and there are fellowships available for top talents.

Gates Masters Fellowships

The programme with scholarships available for top talents is based at IHE Delft in the Netherlands, with thesis work abroad, while, in the near future, the programme will also be available at universities in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

The world’s top experts from academia and practice developed and provided the state-of-the-art content. This demand-driven and the practice-orientated programme will yield graduates with fundamental understanding and knowledge as well as the skills necessary for creating impact.

All graduates will benefit from a dedicated career development programme, supported by the BMGF and will become a member of the Global Faecal Sludge Management Learning Alliance and alumni community.

Level/Field of Scholarship

The Fellowship is open to postgraduate studies awarded in any subject offered by the university.

Host Nationality

This scholarship will take place in IHE Delft in the Netherlands. If you are an international student and you wish to study in the united state of America, check out the best scholarships obtainable for study in the United States of America

Eligible Nationality

All (with focus on professionals from South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa) can apply.

Scholarship Benefits: 

The committee will select fifteen top talents for the first edition of the MSc in Sanitation (academic cohort 2023) and will receive a scholarship.

In the subsequent editions, starting from the class 2023, the program will be open to more students (up to 50) and funding beyond scholarships provided by the BMGF will be necessary.

Gates Masters Fellowships Eligibility: 

  • Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s or equivalent engineering degree (e.g. civil, sanitary, environmental etc.) or degree in other relevant fields (e.g. public health, medicine, urban planning, finances, administration, economics, etc.).
  • You must be a Citizen of Latin America, North America, and Europe. Women, irrespective of their geographical location, are encouraged to apply.
