The Ministry for the Welfare of Minorities and Other Backward Classes in the government of Manipur, India, is making an available MOBC scholarship offer for the other backward classes indigenes of the state. The information is to inform all concerned that online applications are invited from interested students/candidates.

The scholarship is offered to promote education and upliftment of society. The MOBC Manipur Scholarship is offered only to those candidates whose family income is low and cannot afford to pay for their education.

What is MOBC

The ministry for the welfare of minorities and other backward classes, Manipur was established on 30/7/1998 for the welfare of minorities and OBCs.

The main objective for the creation of MOBC is to take measures to protect the interests of minorities and other disadvantaged class communities and also to include welfare programs/arrangements for minorities and other backward classes in the state.

Below are the different MOBC scholarship schemes available for OBC Students.

Post-Matric Scholarship to Minority students (100% CSS)

The objective of the plan is to grant scholarships to meritorious students from economically weaker sectors of the minority community to provide them with better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of achievement in higher education and improve their employability.

The scholarship will be awarded for studies in India at a government or private upper secondary school/colleges/university/, including government residential institutes and eligible private institutes selected and transparently notified by the State Government / Territorial Union of Administration correspondent.

It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes / Industrial Training Centers affiliated to the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes XI and XII.


Pre-Matric Scholarship to Minority students (100% CSS)

The Pre-Matric Scholarship will encourage parents of minority communities to send their children to school to lighten their financial burden on school education and sustain their efforts to help their children complete their education school.

The scheme will form the basis for their educational achievement and will provide a level playing field in the competitive work environment. Empowerment through education, which is one of the objectives of this scheme, has the potential to elevate the socioeconomic conditions of minority communities.

The scholarship will be awarded for studies in India in a government or in a private school of class I to class X, including residential Government institutes and eligible private institutes selected and transparently notified by the State Government and the Territorial Administration of the corresponding Union.


Merit cum Means based Scholarship to Minority students (100% CSS)

The objective of the Plan is to provide financial assistance to poor and deserving students belonging to minority communities so that they can follow professional and technical courses.

These scholarships are available only for studies in India and will be granted through the Administration of the State Government / UT or an Agency designated by the Administration of the State Government / UT for this purpose.


Post-Matric Scholarship to Scheduled Castes students:-

The objective of the plan is to provide financial assistance to students of the scheduled caste who study in post-enrollment or in the post-secondary state so that they can complete their education.

These scholarships are available only for studies in India and are granted by the government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant really belongs, that is, is permanently established.


Pre-Matric Scholarship to Scheduled Castes students:

The objective of the plan is to support parents of children with SC for the education of their pupils who study in classes IX and X so that the incidence of school dropout is minimized, especially in the transition from primary to secondary school, and to improve the participation of SC children in classes IX and X of the pre-matric stage so that they have better performance and have a better opportunity to progress to the post-matric stage of education.

The scholarship under the Plan will be available only for studies in India and will be granted by the Government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant belongs, that is, where he is domiciled.


Post-Matric Scholarship to Economically Backward Class (EBC) students:

The goal of the plan is to provide financial assistance to students in the Economically Overdue Class (EBC) who study in the post-enrollment or post-secondary stage so they can complete their education.

These scholarships will be available for studies in India that only take place in government institutions and will be granted by the Government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant really belongs, that is, it will be liquidated permanently.


Post-Matric Scholarship to OBC students:

The purpose of the plan is to provide financial assistance to OBC students studying in post-enrollment or in the post-secondary state so they can complete their education.

These scholarships are available only for studies in India and are granted by the government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant really belongs, that is, is permanently established.


Pre-Matric Scholarship to OBC students:

OBCs living below twice the poverty line form a large part of the population and, to begin with, there are disparities between OBCs. It is proposed to grant scholarships to the children of parents of the poorest OBC of the school whose annual income is less than twice the poverty line.
