Students already enrolled at the University of Flanders cannot apply.

2. VLIR-UOS Training and Postgraduate Bursaries in Belgium

VLIR-UOS presents scholarships to students from 31 eligible countries in Africa including South Africa, Asia, and Latin America, to follow an English taught training or master program at  Flemish university or university college located in Belgian soil.

Eligibility

You can only apply for this award if you meet the following requisites:

A candidate should be a national and resident of one of the 31 nations of the VLIR-UOS country list for scholarships award

The maximum age for a Master’s program candidate is expected to be 35 years for an initial master and 40 years for advanced masters.

The candidate cannot exceed this age on January 1 of the intake year,  Instructions and deadline:

You must apply for scholarships and admission through the university’s website. When you apply, indicate whether you are applying for a Bursary or admission.

The program varies and is determined by the board, but most of them are around February 1 or March 1 each year. Some training programs are not open yet but will be open soon.

3. The University of Gothenburg International Scholarships

Deadline: 14 Feb every year

This postgraduate bursary starts in August.

The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarships award Programme presents fee-paying South African students the opportunity to receive a scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree program, with the entry deadline semester.
