  • The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
  • Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
  • Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma – anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
  • Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
  • Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

Student Self-Reported Academic Report

The SSAR is the self-reported transcript of your high school grades from 9th-11th and courses in progress for grade 12.

All freshman applicants will submit the SSAR including applicants who have already graduated from high school.

Once you have submitted your application, a link will appear on your status page to create your SSAR. You must complete this step in order for your application to be complete.

What is the University of Florida’s Graduate Admission Process?

Application for the University of Florida Graduate program is online. Students can apply to any of the 250 graduate programs in UF.

After you have submitted your application, UF will send you an 8-digit code explaining the status of your application. This code is important as you’ll use it in all other communications between you and the university.

Additionally, you have to submit your GRE, GMAT and FE test scores which will be important while you send your official transcripts to the school.

Note: You should send a copy of the original transcript to the school.

International Students

All international students will send their transcripts in their native language while also submitting their English proficiency test exam. The minimum scores for the exams are;
