Clara Lionel Foundation Global Scholarship Program

Rihanna announced a global scholarship program through the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), which will award scholarships to US and international students attending an American university.

Applicants must be residents of Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, and Haiti to be eligible. Guyana, Jamaica, or the United States. And have already been accepted into a degree program at a college or university accredited for four years in the United States for the 2023 school year.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty founded CWF in 2012 to honor her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, and the organization’s grants support international programs focused on health, education, arts, and culture.

Eligibility for the Clara Lionel Foundation Global Scholarship Program

Applicants to the Clara Lionel Foundation Global Scholarship Program must be:

Citizen or native of Brazil, Barbados, Cuba, Haiti, Grenada, Guyana, or Jamaica.
Eligible to study in the United States and to be accepted into a four-year accredited college or university in the United States.
First-year freshmen (with less than 12 college credits unless credits are earned in high school) are considering enrolling in a full-time undergraduate program at a four-year accredited college or university throughout the 2023 academic year.
The possibility of receiving funds from the Foreign Assets Control Bureau.

Selection Criteria

Rihanna Scholarship finalists are selected based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, professional experience, statement of educational goals and objectives, personal circumstances or unusual family circumstances, and external evaluation. The financial need is not taken into account.

Scholarship Management Services make the selection of finalists. No director or employee of the Clara Lionel Foundation shall participate in selecting the finalists.

Once the finalists have been selected, a Clara Lionel Foundation selection committee will nominate the winners. All candidates accept the decision as final.

No employee or consultant of the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) or Roc Nation, LLC, nor any member of the employee’s family or consultant may apply. No officer or director of the FCF, member of the selection committee, employee, consultant, or family member of an official, director, or selection committee member are eligible to apply. Candidates will be informed by the end of July.
