Field(s) for the 2023 Visby Research Scholarship Program in Sweden
The scholarship is only valid for full-time studies (30 ECTS per semester, 100 % full-time) in Sweden. If the semester consists of several courses they must add up to 30 credits per semester. The studies should begin in the autumn semester of 2023.

Visby Programme Scholarships are targeted at candidates from the following countries: Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine.
Eligibility
The Visby Programme Scholarships are intended for Ph.D. students, and postdoctoral researchers belonging to any of the above-mentioned target groups for full-time Ph.D. studies/research in Sweden.
A scholarship cannot be granted to an applicant who:
- has already lived in Sweden for two or more years when the scholarship period is due to begin;
- has already got a Swedish permanent residence permit;
- has a Swedish work permit and is not an EU citizen;
- is applying for a scholarship at Ph.D. level but is not enrolled in ongoing Ph.D. studies at your home university; or
- is applying for a scholarship at the postdoctoral level, but does not hold any Ph.D. degree.
Scholarship Application Method
‣ Please read the instructions and complete the application enclosures, before entering the online application form.
‣ The application should be submitted online using the Swedish Institute application portal. Complete all the mandatory fields and attach all required documents. Only apply once and wait until you receive a confirmation email with your reference number.
‣ The reference number should be used whenever contacting SI with inquiries regarding the scholarship application. If you cannot find the confirmation email in your inbox, first make sure to check your spam filter before contacting SI.
Online Application for Visby Research Scholarship Program in Sweden
The online application portal for the SI Scholarships for Global Professionals academic year 2023/2024 closed on 28 February at 14:59 CET. The next application round opens in February 2023.
