Here are the top 10 highest paid boxers in the world 2023

10.  Joseph Parker

Joseph Dennis Parker, 29, is a professional boxer and one of the highest-paid boxers from New Zealand.

From 2016 to 2018, he held the WBO heavyweight title and several regional heavyweight titles, including the WBO Oriental, Africa, and Oceania titles and the PABA, OPBF, and New Zealand titles.

Parker became the first heavyweight boxer from New Zealand or the Pacific Islands to win a major world championship after defeating Andy Ruiz for the vacant WBO belt.

In 2018, Joseph Parker became the highest-paid Australian boxer, earning a guaranteed purse of $3 million, with earnings for the bout against Joshua rising to $10 million (pay-per-view sales).

For the bout, he has a 30% pay-per-view sales lead. Shortly, Parker lost another heavyweight fight to (Dillian Whyte), earning a purse of up to $4 million plus a part of the pay-per-view revenue.

Last month, he came back from his seven-second knockout to win the WBO Intercontinental heavyweight title, which he won against Derek Chisora at the AO Arena in Manchester, England, on May 1, 2021.

Parker received a one-million-pound purse for the fight, but his overall earnings increased to £3 million due to the pay-per-view sales ratio.

9.  Micheal Hunter

Micheal Hunter Jr. is an American boxer. In 2017 he was challenged for the WBO junior heavyweight title. Hunter is the son of the late professional boxer Mike Hunter. He fought his first career title in April 2017.

Hunter has an estimated net worth of $3m as of 2021. The primary source for his worth is his boxing career.

His exact salary is not specified. Reports have it that his earnings range between an initial $100,000 to $500,000 per fight which might rise if eventually, his current form continues.

Micheal Hunter is currently ranked 7th by Ring and 5th by IBF.

He is one of the world’s highest-paid boxers.

8. Oleksandr Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk is a boxer from Ukraine. He was the first cruiserweight in history to hold all four major world championships, reigning as the undisputed cruiserweight champion from 2018 until 2019.

Usyk recently received a raise in fight payouts; he is currently undefeated and has risen to the position of number one contender for the WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight title, which he will defend against Derek Chisora.

The Ukrainian boxer’s guaranteed purse money confirmed that he would earn $2.5 million from the fight on October 31st, but no information on how much pay-per-view bonus he will receive was released.

7. Luiz Ortiz

Luis Ortiz is a professional boxer from Cuba. From 2015 to 2016, he held the WBA interim heavyweight title, and in 2018 and 2019, he was challenged twice for the WBC heavyweight title. Ortiz is known for his powerful punching skills, earning him the nickname “King Kong.” 

According to both Ring magazine and Transnational Boxing, he is the world’s sixth-best active heavyweight as of April 2021. This makes him one of the highest-paid boxers at the moment.

According to Hollywoods Magazine, the Cuban boxer, who stands 6ft 4in tall, has a massive net worth of $22 million as of August 2020.

Ortiz’s fight against Wilder almost two years ago was one of his highest-paid boxers fights, with a purse of $1.3 million and a $2 million increase thanks to paying per view.

6. Andy Ruiz Jr.

Andrés Ruiz Jr. is another highest-paid boxer from Mexican-American who competes in the United States.

Ruiz is a former unified heavyweight champion, having defeated Anthony Joshua to win the WBA (Super), IBF, WBC, and IBO titles in 2019. In doing so, he became the first Mexican-born male boxer to win a world heavyweight title.

Ruiz Jr’s most lucrative match is his rematch with Anthony Joshua. According to Forbes, this earned him around $13-14 million, while the first match earned him a total of $7 million. 

Ruiz Jr. returned to the ring last month with a victory over Arreola at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

With a salary of $3.5 million, Ruiz Jr was the highest-paid boxer in the fight (including a PPV share bonus).

5. Dillian wyte

Dillian Whyte is a professional boxer from the United Kingdom, former kickboxer, and mixed martial artist. The Ring Magazine ranks him as the world’s fifth-best active heavyweight, and BoxRec ranks him seventh.

Dillian earned $3 million from his two matches in 2019. Whyte earned $5.2 million from a single WBC interim heavyweight title fight against Alexander Povetkin in 2020.

He has earned just from boxing a total of more than $15 million in his entire career. This makes him one of the highest-paid boxers.

4. Alexander Povetkin

Alexander Povetkin is a Russian professional boxer currently active in the sport.

In 2020, the highest-paid Russian boxers/ athlete, with a salary of $10 million, includes a bonus of ($3.5 million show, $6.5 million ppv share).

After dominating British boxer (Dillian Whyte) in the fifth round, he became the new WBC interim heavyweight champion. A report revealed that Alexander Povetkin’s net worth hiked to $10m. 

Povetkin is currently earning a lot of money for his fights; the highest guaranteed purse in his career was £6 million against Anthony Joshua in 2018.

After winning the heavyweight title last year, his pay-per-view share and purse split increased in the rematch.

Povetkin’s upcoming re-match fight purse has been revealed. Povetkin earns a guaranteed $5 million purse, and if pay-per-view sales remain strong for the fight, his earnings will increase to approximately $12m.

3. Deontay Wilder

Deontay Wilder is a heavyweight boxer from the United States. In 2015, Deontay won the WBC heavyweight title, which he held for a few years.

He ended a nine-year drought of American heavyweight champions, the longest such drought in the sport’s history.

$2 million for the first Luis Ortiz fight, $10 million for the first Tyson Fury fight, $10 million for Dominic Breazeale, $20 million for the Luis Ortiz rematch, and $28 million for the Tyson Fury rematch are among Deontay’s most notable paydays.

Deontay’s career earnings exceed $70 million if the Fury rematch in February 2020 is included.

2. Tyson Fury

The ‘Gypsy King,’ as he is affectionately known in the boxing world, is a two-time world heavyweight champion. After bulldozing through Deontay Wilder in February 2020, he won the WBC title.

Tyson Fury is one of the biggest names in boxing. His earnings are expected to skyrocket in 2021 as he prepares for the highly-anticipated Anthony Joshua match in August.

In the coming match Tyson Fury is expected to earn anything less than $100m, including per-per-view bonuses. 

He happens to be the second-highest-paid boxers in the world.

Anthony Joshua is a British professional boxer, who made his professional debut in 2013, and has risen to incredible heights in the world of boxing.

He was named Ring magazine’s “Prospect of the Year” in 2014. He was also the first-ever British boxer to be included in the list.

He is IBF, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion and a two-time unified heavyweight champion.

Joshua earns approximately $11 million from commercial deals. The likes of Jaguar Land Rover, Beats Electronics, Sky Sports, Electronic Arts, Hugo Boss and s few more are among the many brands he has collaborated with.

Joshua has earned approximately $125 million in total earnings since 2018, which include purse payouts, PPV revenue, and endorsement earnings and some of that stems from his most recent big fight, a rematch with Andy Ruiz that earned him 60 million dollars.

And in two months, we will see him earn even more in a single match in his August match against Tyson Fury. Both fighters have a guaranteed 50-50 of  $150m offer from Saudi Arabia to host the event and the earnings will eventually increase due to bonuses and pay-per-view.
