Basically, if you want to create anything visual, for print or the web, Creative Cloud will likely have the tools to help you make it.

What Does Adobe Student Discount Include?

The first thing to note is that the Adobe Student discount applies to the Creative Cloud All-Apps subscription only. It does NOT apply to single-app subscriptions or bundles like a Photography Plan.

Also, the Adobe Student discount applies for the first year only. You can still get a discount in your second year, but the price will increase.

If you don’t want that to happen, you’ll need to cancel your subscription before the end of the year.

The Creative Cloud from Adobe is a collection of 20+ creative apps for desktop, mobile, and web that offers you professional tools for photography, designing, video, UX creation, and much more. We’ve outlined all of them in our Adobe software list article.

In general, if you want to create anything visual, for web or print, Adobe Creative Cloud will mostly have all the necessary tools to meet your requirement.

The subscription program means that you will not own the software you are using, and if you stop paying for it monthly, you will no longer have access to all those apps.

However, the systems come with some benefits too. For example, Adobe updates the apps frequently and offers you 100GB of cloud storage for Adobe Fonts, Adobe Spark, and Adobe Portfolio.

Not only that, but the creative cloud apps are also well integrated – meaning you can easily switch between the many apps offered in the “All Apps” subscription.

Who Can Get An Adobe Student Discount?

To qualify for the student discount on Creative Cloud, you must be at least 13 years old and enrolled in one of the following institutions:

  • Any accredited public or private university or college, as long as your degree requires the equivalent of at least two years of full-time study. Full-time and part-time students are both eligible.
  • Any accredited public or private primary or secondary school providing full-time instruction.
  • Home-schooling. You must be studying in a Homeschool defined by state homeschooling regulations.
  • Course – You must be enrolled in an Adobe Certified course
  • The Adobe student discount is also available to teachers, faculty, and staff at the above institutions, and to home school teachers.

How To Be Eligible For The Adobe Student Duscount

To be eligible, Adobe will request a document issued by the institution within the last six months, with your name, institution name, and current date.

Examples of acceptable documents include a school ID card, report card, transcript, tuition bill or statement.

Home-schooled students may supply a dated copy of a letter of intent to home school; current membership ID to a homeschool association (for example, the Home School Legal Defense Association), or dated proof of purchase of curriculum for the current school year.

If you’re a teacher or education worker, you’ll be asked to present ID that includes your name, the date, and the name of your employer or an official document. The latter may include, for example, an institutional paycheck stub, or a letter on official letterhead from the registrar.

Fortunately, this is relatively easy to prove. Adobe says that “if you provide a school-issued email address during purchase, you are instantly verified, ” including .edu or .k12 in the US, .ac.uk in the UK, or “other email domains ” sponsored by educational institutions”.

If you don’t have one of those email addresses, you’ll likely need to prove your eligibility after signing up to Creative Cloud with another document – these include a school ID card, report card or tuition bill.

Another thing to remember is that the 65% discount is only for the first year. After that, Adobe automatically renews your contract at $29.99/£25.28 p/month, which is still between 44%-50% off the usual price, if not quite as juicy as the first-year discount.

If you want to try the full suite of apps before diving in, you can also sign up to a free 7-day trial.

If necessary, Adobe is happy for you to cross out any sensitive information such as pay amounts, grades, or social security numbers.
